It's been close to fifty days since Game of Thrones' series finale hit the screens and since then, the Internet became crazy. Simple as that.

On one hand, die-hard fans of the show demanded a new conclusion in the form of a petition that already gathered more than 1.6 million signatures.

Here is the description of the petition: "David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
This series deserves a final season that makes sense."

On the other, many shared their utter frustration on various social media, to such a point that some members of the cast and crew had to address the situation.

Actress Sophie Turner (Sansa) said the following, while promoting her new film Dark Phoenix: "It’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season. Like 50-something night shoots."

Meanwhile, original author George R.R. Martin also addressed the controversy:
"The Internet is toxic in a way that old fanzine culture and fandoms—comics fans, science fiction fans—in those days, was not. There were disagreements. There were feuds, but nothing like the madness that you see on the internet."

Toxic is the word. I'm not watching the show and, as a GRR Martin fan, I'm still a victim of this plague.

We can never say it enough :
