Netflix and Chills Edition

The last week of September is here, with a new spooktacular Netflix lineup for October. Netflix is premiering highly anticipated original titles this month, The Haunting of Hill House and new Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Other titles include psychological thriller Hold the Dark which follows a retired wolf expert investigating a child's disappearance in the Alaskan wilderness. For a more family friendly flick, Creeped Out is an anthology series featuring a masked figure known as "The Curious" who collects tales of dark magic. Check out the list below, with trailers for all the new Netflix originals.

Hold the Dark (Netflix Film)

A gripping psychological thriller unfolds in the treacherous Alaskan wilderness when a retired wolf expert is summoned to investigate a child’s disappearance. Hold The Dark, starring Jeffrey Wright, Alexander Skarsgård and Riley Keough, and directed by Jeremy Saulnier.

Creeped Out (Netflix Original Series)

A masked figure known as "The Curious" collects tales of dark magic, otherworldly encounters and twisted technology in this kids anthology series. Featuring William Romain, Sydney Wade, and Jennifer James.

Malevolent (Netflix Film)

A brother-sister team who fake paranormal encounters for cash get more than they bargained for when a job at a haunted estate turns very, very real. Written by Ben Ketai, and Eva Konstantopoulos, based on the book Hush by Eva Konstantopoulos. Starring Florence Pugh, Celia Imrie, and Ben Lloyd-Hughes.

October 12
Apostle (Netflix Film)

The promise of the divine is but an illusion. A drifter on a dangerous mission to rescue his kidnapped sister, tangles with a sinister religious cult on an isolated island in 1905. From writer and director Gareth Evans, starring Dan Stevens and Michael Sheen.



The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell (Netflix Original Series)

Wickedly talented baker and artist Christine McConnell fills her home with haunting confections, creepy crafts and wildly inappropriate creatures.

The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix Original Series)

Flashing between past and present, a fractured family confronts haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it. Based on the novel by Shirley Jackson. Starring Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, and Timothy Hutton. Directed by Mike Flanagan.

Haunted (Netflix Original Series)

Real people sit down with friends and family to share true stories of terrifying events that continue to haunt them. Vivid recreations included with this new reality series.

Castlevania—Season 2 (Netflix Original Series)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix Original Series)

The story of Sabrina Spellman, a half-witch half-mortal teenage girl. She's been waiting her whole life for her 16th birthday but something wicked this way comes, forcing her to choose between a path of light and the path of the night. From the makers of Riverdale. Directed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Starring Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Ross Lynch, and Richard Coyle.
