The things we do for money
By Jack Anderson on April 5, 2019

This review contains many spoilers covering the entire film.

I love money heist movies. The problem is that 99% of the time, the , except maybe in Ocean's Eleven slash Twelve slash Thirteen, etc.
During the first part of Triple Frontier, I was expecting that we would we spending an entire film with that particular money heist, probably going wrong and ending up with nothing, except a few brave actions.
The good thing about the storyline is that the money heist is done quite quickly and early into the film. But, obviously, instead of flying into the Sun and watching the guys starting to spend their money and have fun, we get to experience them not reaching their final destination and struggling to get home. This is still more entertaining than a 90 minutes organization of a jungle money heist.

The film is a kind of Expandables movie, but made by Netflix and clearly more compelling and less "testosterony."

The gutsy move from the writer was to kill off Ben Affleck's character, thirty minutes before the end of the film. That was a really surprising and ballsy move.

One thing was particularly great was the great soundtrack. The original music was not particularly interesting, but the songs were greatly picked, especially because those are not extremely famous songs. I guess the rule is not to use immensely popular hi songs.

Still, I cannot rate the movie as good, as its ending is not satisfying at all. The characters are left with a million each and decide to give it up. The end. Credits roll. The morale of the story wasn't really clear and hence the entire adventure was kind of futile.

For these reasons, I give the movie 4 out of 10. Average.
