Witty exciting!

By Jack Anderson  on January 1, 2019

INTRODUCTION
After an old friend (Guigui) shared how ecstatic he was about the Doctor Who saga, I then went ahead and tried to discover it for myself.
I opened up Netflix and searched for Doctor Who, and since the original series was not there, I simply chose the oldest episode I could find. This is that episode. Season 5, episode 1.

Here we go!

WITTY!
As I expected, being a UK show, the format is clearly different from the usual US cinemascope-like series. But you know what? That felt actually pretty good! Because the show, or at least that particular episode, is very good!

MUSIC
I was really surprised by the excellent quality of the soundtrack. The music, obviously recorded with a real live orchestra, is such an important part of that episode, and gives it a fantastic feeling.

DOCTOR WHO
As I discovered, this is the first episode of lead actor Matt Smith. And I was, once again, quite surprised, as he seems like the perfect fit. Smith is beautifully portraying this fun and wit character.

STORY
Meanwhile, the story is really interesting, with Doctor Who meeting a young girl, only to reappear 12 years later.

SUMMARY
I give it 7 out of 10. Excellent.

Doctor Who is chasing Prisoner Zero, who has escaped.
Nice start for the new Doctor Who.
