After the somewhat artificial tension of the mid-season, the second and final part of the Good Place lacks energy.
While it's fun to discover that you can understand everything from Twin Peaks in paradise, the visit to the real Good Place seems to lack power and the twist making Michael the new chef lacks depth. Who originally set up the board? We won't know anything about the original entities and why this council was there to run things. It's comfortable for the authors but it weakens the background.
