I have read countless times Cigarss of the Pharaoh. The album is truly terrific and gives a complete new dimension to the Tintin universe. The first three albums, Soviets/Congo/America, are interesting but nowhere near the quality of this album. The first three had basically no real story, there were merely a series of gags - mostly not funny - and lacking any kind of interest.
Cigars of the Pharaoh is totally different. First, the story is truly great. In only a few pages, we go from a very peaceful boat cruise to the inside of a secret base near Egyptian pyramids. We travel in the air, on sea. The mystery is really exciting and ends with a very nice climax.
No wonder why I loved this book as a kid.
I give it 8 out of 10. Superb.
