Good but disturbingly different
By Jack Anderson on June 27, 2018

From the very first second, the album is having a totally different sound from the first three ones. Clearly, The Soft Parade is the... softer studio album of the band. It is heavily utilizing strings and brass in a way that makes the great original sound of the band disappearing. Actually, some of the songs are truly terrific, but I would have much preferred an album with just a couple of songs on that genre and not almost all of them.

I give it 6 out of 10. Very good.
